Language Translation

Do you need to translate a word or phrase? Would you like to learn a new language in your spare time? Wouldn’t it be nice to unexpectedly impress people by speaking a small phrase to them in their native language?

Well, put down the translation books and turn on the computer. With the brilliance of Google Technology, translating between languages couldn’t be easier! Welcome to the new Google Translate Service. Not only can you go to and from English in almost any language, but you can also translate from any language to any language period! What a cool resource!

Alike most things related to Google, usage is FREE. So what are you waiting for? Go check it out at the following website:

Enter the words you would like to translate into the text box. Choose the language that the words were written in from the drop down text box to the left of the arrow (Alternatively you can choose the “Detect Language” option). Then, choose the language that you would like the text translated to from the drop down box to the right of the arrow. The arrow represents the following analogy: “From” >> “To”. When finished, click the Translate button and you are done! Here is what the Google Translation service looks like:

Another interesting usage of the Google Translation service is the ability to translate an entire webpage. Simply enter the URL of the webpage that you would like to translate. Use the same instructions above for choosing the “From” and “To” languages. Click the Translate button when finished, and Voila! The following image shows what the webpage Translation service looks like:

So go ahead, teach yourself something in your native tongue. Perhaps your parents were fluent in a particular language, but you never really understood. Take advantage of this great free service from Google. I’m sure you will learn a thing or two. At the very least, knowing how to swear multiple ways can’t be a bad thing :-) Happy translating!
